Congo Initiative UK Inspires Pupils at Markethill Primary School

Christian African charity Congo Initiative UK was recently welcomed to Markethill Primary School, Co. Armagh, to deliver a special assembly highlighting the charity’s work and the transformative projects it supports in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Speaking to more than 200 pupils and staff, David McAllister MBE, Chief Executive of Congo Initiative UK, shared the inspiring story of the organisation’s partnerships with schools and a university in the Congo. He outlined the significant progress being made each year through education, community development, and youth and female empowerment programmes that are helping to shape a brighter future for thousands of young people.

David also spoke about the vital role that faith and Christian values play in the charity’s mission, emphasising how education, leadership, and spiritual development work together to bring lasting change to communities.

David McAllister MBE said:

"It was a privilege to speak with the pupils and staff of Markethill Primary School about the challenges faced by many children in the Congo and to reflect on aspects of daily life that we often take for granted. I am excited about the opportunity to grow our partnership with Markethill Primary School and to build meaningful connections with our school programmes in the Congo, helping pupils gain a greater understanding of the wider world around them."
