Being Transformed To Transform

We are investing in those best positioned to create lasting change and thriving communities. Visionary changemakers develop lasting initiatives to confront Congo’s greatest challenges and ignite human flourishing. Our core catalyst for change is the locally-led L’Université Chrétienne Bilingue du Congo (UCBC) and its community engagement initiatives, located in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

At Congo Initiative we are helping to build a generation of educated, Christ-centred young students who have the potential to be transformed and make real change.

  • Anne Marie Safi Mathe, Agribusiness Graduate

“I am deeply grateful to God and especially Congo Initiative and UCBC for its commitment to academic excellence and such enriched training that has allowed me to obtain my degree in Agribusiness.

Being a member of UCBC has been extremely beneficial for my outlook and has given me self-confidence, as I am convinced that with all the knowledge I have acquired, I will be able to make a significant contribution to society.

My time at UCBC was not only a period of learning and growing in my faith, but also the acquisition of a new family. ”

  • Laurene Nzurana, Economics Graduate

“My journey at UCBC has been an exciting exploration of community and personal growth, enriched by the sharing of ideas and experiences. At UCBC, bilingualism transcends languages to unite hearts, creating a deep integration within the Congolese community.

Guided by my faith and Christian teachings, I not only acquired a rigorous training in economics but was also shaped by a community in which commitment and friendship are essential values. Every moment spent at UCBC has been transformative, merging academic knowledge and spiritual development in an adventure of faith and service within the community.”

  • Claude Abdala Makonga, Engineering Graduate

I would like to express my gratitude to UCBC for the exceptional training it has provided us. I am committed to using the skills and knowledge acquired in this transformational machine to make a positive contribution to the world.”

HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED

“Do not remember the former things, or consider the things of old. I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not percieve it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18-19
